After the exchange of letters you saw in Part 1 of this blog, in which MemberX was dating a “Chinese girl” who supposedly resides in the UK but had gone on a trip to Nigeria, I discovered that a letter I had sent to MemberX earlier than the last letter in Part 1 had actually not reached him, so I sent it again. You’ll find it below and it’s valuable because of our recommendations to MemberX on what to watch for, as well as his understandable refusal to want to give up on Kibecky, but his intelligent plan to now test Kibecky more thoroughly to determine if she was real or not. In this letter I am setting MemberX’s responses in bold so they’re easy to separate from my own questions and comments.

We recently went through a fairly intensive investigation of a Scammer. We received a letter from a member who had “found someone on ALM”. This was a fellow whose profile we had recently reviewed because we thought it was very sensible, and displayed an intelligent awareness and approach to the potential problem of being scammed on a dating site. Just one example was his insistence that anyone contacting him must have a webcam. I will simply refer to the member as “MemberX”.

We have recently received the following letter from a CLM/ALM member describing his experiences on AsianBeauties.com. This is not the only such letter we’ve received – in fact they are starting to flow in - regarding this site, it is just the most detailed. These letters about AsianBeauties.com have caused us to add them to our list of sites we will publicly state are scams.

Don’t forget your passport! A friend of mine – we will protect his identity by calling him "Big Idiot" – booked a flight from San Francisco to Bangkok via Tokyo, and in his happiness didn’t notice that the last employee at San Francisco International to handle his passport had somehow failed to give it back to him.

Human beings are gregarious by nature. There will be a time in our lives when we will consciously or unconsciously engage in actively seeking a person; to live with us, start a family and it has been like this since the dawn of times. Christians and Jews believe that the first couple was hand picked by God Himself, well, it could not get any better than this, but for the rest of us we have to do the work ourselves. Hopefully, God will give a hand. Some call it fate, others destiny, some believe that is just luck, a love lottery, others that happen by chance. For some it happens accidentally in the most unexpected way while other get a little help from friends, family or even professional matchmakers. With today’s technologies, with the advent of the internet, we have the “dating sites” and I believe that saves us a lot of leg work and help to select a few people that are more suitable than others to share life with us.

We’ve had an interesting little run in with a Scammer over the last few days so I thought you all might be interested in it. It’s been quiet on the scammer front for the last few months, and while a few have been caught and placed in Scammer Prison, it has mostly been online Chinese Dating as usual here on CLM. But this one is a little unique so maybe it's worth the write up.

Love is a legend. It’s not common. It should be locked in a crystal box and kept away from noises and dusts. Nowadays it gets used and abused quite often. Most people don’t even know what it is. Walking back and forth in the room, I had nothing to do but biting my nails and scratching my head. I turned on the TV, couldn’t focus on anything but changing channels. I always hate the situation where I can’t do anything but wait. Waiting is the last thing I’m good at especially when I don’t know for how long or for what.

I'm supposed to give you a bit of an introduction of myself before I start blogging here. But I have trouble doing that. When I go on a job interview I do great on introducing what I learned at school and what I do at work. But when I was asked to give an introduction of myself I got stuck. The way I hear the question is “take your clothes off and show me your naked soul”. I can’t define myself.
